Arvind Kejriwal Calls For CBI Probe Into Punjab’s Spurious Liquor Deaths


Arvind Kejriwal mentioned no latest illicit liquor case has been solved by the Punjab police.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal — whose Aam Aadmi Social gathering is a part of the opposition in Congress-ruled Punjab — has demanded a CBI investigation into the hooch tragedy within the state which has claimed 86 lives. “The case must be handed over to CBI instantly as not one of the illicit liquor circumstances from the previous few months have been solved by native police,” he tweeted.

The deaths attributable to spurious liquor began on Wednesday throughout three districts of the state. Sixty-three of the deaths had been reported from Tarn Taran district, 12 in Amritsar and 11 in Gurdaspur’s Batala, reported information company Press Belief of India.
