A tribal groom sporting a ‘sherwani’ at his wedding ceremony led to a dispute between his and the bride’s household in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, following which individuals from the 2 sides allegedly threw stones at one another and indulged in a violent conflict, police mentioned on Monday.

The incident came about in Mangbaeda village on Saturday after family members of the bride insisted that the groom put on a ‘dhoti-kurta’ through the marriage rituals, as per their tribal custom, and never the ‘sherwani’.

“The groom Sundarlal, a resident of Dhar metropolis, was sporting a ‘sherwani’, whereas the bride’s family members insisted that the wedding rituals be carried out in ‘dhoti-kurta’,” Dhamnod police station in-charge Sushil Yaduvanshi mentioned.
